Collection of Plans
This collection is largely the result of the work of Bodo Ebhardt, founder of the DBV, architect, restorer and castellologist, who either acquired the plans for his publications from others or drew them himself. Architects, conservators and castellologists will find the collection of over 21.000 plans a real treasure-trove. There are several hundred plans of castles that Ebhardt himself curated, expanded, restored and converted (Coburg, Haut Koenigsburg, Marksburg, etc.).
Even today they are a useful tool for conservation and research work.
The Institute undertakes to professionally archive the plans used for undergraduate theses, dissertations, etc., from universities and technical colleges and make them available to others working in research.
